"I've always had an interest in repairing things," says Mike Dymus, co-owner of Silvhorn Automotive in Pemberton. "Even as a child, I would take my toys apart and fix them."
That curiosity about how things work led Mike to gain almost 15 years experience in the industry before becoming a Certified Red Seal Technician in 2002 and joining Silvhorn Automotive in 2003.
"Silvhorn has been around since 1987," Mike explains, "I bought into the shop in 2003. At that time, there was just my business partner and Silvhorn founder, Bob Farrell and I working in the shop. Today, we have ten people on payroll."
Part of Silvhorn's success has been Mike's customer-comes-first approach.
"Right from the minute that you walk in the door until you leave with your vehicle, we try to make the whole experience a little more appealing," says Mike.
Silvhorn Automotive is a full-service general repair and maintenance facility that specializes in all makes and models. Electronic diagnostics and digital inspections are all part of the service.
With his team of four mechanics, Mike works to educate his customers.
"Customer education is very important to me," Mike says. "We have a lot of systems set up here to make sure the customer understands exactly what we repaired on their vehicle and why it's important to have specific work completed."
Mike and his team at Silvhorn strive to stay on the cutting edge of technology, using the latest in digital equipment to diagnose issues and advise customers on any required repairs.
