WB holds on to No. 1 ranking in SKI magazine

Resort earns first place in reader's poll for second year in a row

SKI Magazine's reader's poll has ranked Whistler Blackcomb (WB) as the No. 1 best ski resort in North America for the second year in a row.

This is the third time in four years that the resort has been given the honour. The poll asks readers to rank 50 North American resorts in several different categories. Besides its top ranking, WB also scored first place for terrain variety, off-hill activities, apres and terrain park. It earned second place for lifts, lodging, scenery and overall satisfaction.

"We are very grateful to the readers of SKI Magazine for giving us, and the entire Whistler community, this honour for the second year in a row," said Dave Brownlie, president and CEO of WB, in a release. "We realize how influential the annual SKI Magazine Resort Guide is, so to receive this kind of recognition right around the time people are planning their winter ski vacations is invaluable."

The results of the 28th annual survey were released on social media and SKImag.com on Tuesday (Sept. 22). They will also be published in the magazine's annual Resort Guide.

"Whistler Blackcomb offers today's skiers and riders one of the finest resort experiences anywhere," said Allen Crolius, publisher of SKI Magazine, in a release. "From big-mountain skiing to a base village that sets the standards for mountain resorts, Whistler Blackcomb earned its top ranking from our readers."
