The Resort Municipality of Whistler (RMOW) is partnering with Kwantlen Polytechnic University to offer a new eight-day course for design students in Whistler this summer.
Dubbed the Whistler Design Experience, the course will be run through the university’s Chip and Shannon Wilson School of Design in July with 25 students and professionals.
“It is a unique opportunity for participants to explore all that Whistler offers with its natural and built environment and our local culture — through the lens of design,” said Whistler Mayor Nancy Wilhelm-Morden, in a release. “The partnership is another key step in the implementation of Whistler’s Learning and Education Strategy, while also adding further breadth to our resort.”
Students will stay at the Whistler Athletes’ Centre lodge, tour the area, study its design and enjoy the resort, according to the release.
The course is open to local and international students from all disciplines, as well as industry professionals or anyone interested in learning about design. No background is necessary.
