The provincial government has installed a new web camera on the Sea to Sky Highway.
The camera is located at the intersection of Highway 99 and Village Gate Boulevard to give travellers between Whistler and Lillooet a glimpse of road conditions to the north, south and east.
"These cameras will help us increase road safety in the community by providing up-to-the minute information on road conditions, allowing drivers to plan around heavy traffic and inclement weather," said local MLA Jordan Sturdy, in a release.
The camera was funded through a joint partnership between the Resort Municipality of Whistler and B.C.'s Ministry of Transportation. The intersection was chosen because it's been particularly affected by inclement weather this winter, according to a release.
