Legion Week is celebrated every year in the week before Canada Day to pay tribute to the valued and long-standing service of Legionnaires and members of the Ladies' Auxiliaries of the Royal Canadian Legion.

Although the Legion was founded to advance the cause of Canada's veterans, its grassroots structure led naturally to community service. The Pemberton Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion, chartered in 1946, continues to support the community through a variety of worthwhile fundraisers it helps organize. It also has its regular Friday night barbecue dinners from 6 to 8 p.m. that are open to the public, who are invited to drop by and help celebrate the Legion's proud history.
