There’s no better place to ring in a New Year than Whistler.

If you like to celebrate in style, local clubs and bars have an array of parties on offer. Not fond of crowds? Head into the backcountry for a low-key celebration. To help you celebrate the start of 2018, we’ve rounded up a few of the anticipated events set to take place around town on Dec. 31.

New Year’s Eve Gala

Where: The Fairmont Chateau Whistler, The Macdonald Ballroom, 8:30 p.m.
Cost:   $199

New Year’s Eve at The GLC

Where: The GLC, 10 p.m.
Cost: $75
What: The location of this party — at the base of Whistler Mountain — means you’ll have prime seats for the Fire and Ice show, as well as midnight fireworks. On top of that, DJ Kori K and DJ Foxy Moron will keep the dance floor hopping. Dress to impress, organizers advise.

The Funk Hunters at Maxx Fish

Where: Maxx Fish, 9 p.m.
Cost: $45 - $60

Tommy Africa’s 2018 NYE

Where: Tommy Africa’s, 9 p.m.
Cost: $49 - $79

Garfinkel’s Whistler presents Winter Wonderland NYE 2018
Where: Garfinkel’s, 8 p.m.
Cost: $55 - $200
What: Ditch your typical nightclub digs for a more elegant look — and hide behind a mask (the first 100 people to arrive will get a complimentary masquerade mask, but you’re also welcome to bring your own). Bubbles & Bow Ties NYE 2018

Where: Buffalo Bills, 7 p.m.
Cost: $65 - $115
What: The appeal of Bills is the range of ways to ring in the New Year: on the dance floor with DJ Peacefrog, playing pool, enjoying some food with your friends or cozying up next to a fireplace. Longhorn Saloon New Year’s Eve
Where: Longhorn Saloon, 8 p.m.
Cost: $100
What: This venue also offers you a solid view for the Fire & Ice show as well as midnight fireworks. This popular party will also include party favours and bubbly. Glow, Glitz & Glamour – Moe Joe’s New Year’s Eve Glow Party
Where: Moe Joe’s, 9 p.m.
Cost: $49
What: This party promises to have the three “Cs”: cold smoke, confetti and champagne. Bringing the fun of their Sunday Glow Party to New Year’s Eve, the party will feature La Dooda, Darley and Tellum mashing up house, dance, electro, hip hop and club anthems.
