Friends, neighbours and coworkers remembered the life of Cheakamus Crossing resident Christian Rhude this week after he passed away over the weekend.
Rhude was well known by his neighbours in the subdivision as a kind person and gentle soul who was often out walking his dog Maneuve.
"Christian Rhude was a gentle soul and a gutsy determined fighter. He lived his life with dignity, a positive legacy and an inspiration to us all," wrote Adam Protter on the Cheakamus Crossing community Facebook page.
Rhude worked for Tourism Whistler in its reservations department, located in Function Junction.
"He was truly a joy to work with," said President and CEO of Tourism Whistler Barrett Fisher. "He was incredibly optimistic and proactive and he really understood our business.
"He was a great leader and mentor to the reservation team and he will be sorely missed It was definitely a shock for everyone and it is incredibly challenging and upsetting because he was so young."
He had worked for the company for over two years and a memorial service was held for him at the Whistler Convention Centre on Wednesday (Oct. 17).
