Microscapes: Minerals Beyond the Naked Eye showcases how beautiful rocks can look in thin section, which is a technique for identifying rocks.
When rocks are ground down thinner than a sheet of paper you can shine light through them. Polarized light is used as a way of revealing beautiful colours and patterns, allowing the minerals to be identified.
This is a photo exhibit that is part science, part art and all amazing.
Located in the historic Machine Shop. Free for members or with regular admission, on now until June 15th.

These drop-in meditation classes are taught by qualified Western teachers and are very easy to understand and apply to our daily lives. The classes are suitable for both beginners and more advanced meditation practitioners, and emphasize how to meditate and practice in our busy modern environment. Each class consists of two guided meditations, a talk on a different topic each week, and time for discussion and questions. Other upcoming classes in Squamish are May 15 and May 29.
