Special tours and talks between 11am and 3pm
Britannia had one of the first working co-op stores in Canada. It was one of the bigger buildings in town and a hub of shopping and gossip.
On International Cooperatives Day we are going to pay special tribute to the social history of Britannia. Historical walks around the 'social' side of the site will be offered (11am and 2pm). Presentations (12pm and 3pm) will explore the Company Store's role up until its sad demise in the 50's.
Britannia was a town with a bustling social scene that is rarely heard about. This is a great opportunity for a glimpse into what it was like.
Free for members or with regular admission.
