HALIFAX - Nova Scotia Premier Darrell Dexter is lashing out at the province's opposition parties over their criticism of his government's attempts to attract jobs, accusing them of driving away business.
Dexter raised the issue unprompted while speaking with reporters today, saying the Liberals and Progressive Conservatives were being irresponsible in questioning two payroll rebates announced last week.
The deals were signed with Calgary-based engineering firm Projex Technologies Ltd. and IBM Canada.
Dexter says some of the criticism from the two parties has unfairly questioned the reputations of those companies.
The NDP premier added that he believes the opposition parties are simply trying to make political gains and aren't interested in job creation.
Both opposition leaders say Dexter is showing his frustration with government policies that are not spurring job growth.
