CFB TRENTON, Ont. - There will be a repatriation ceremony Thursday for a Canadian soldier who died after being wounded in Afghanistan.
A military plane carrying the body of Cpl. Brian Pinksen is due at CFB Trenton, Ont., at 2 p.m.
Gov. Gen Michaelle Jean, Defence Minister Peter MacKay and Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Walt Natynczyk are among those expected to be on hand to pay their respects.
Pinksen, who was based in Newfoundland, was wounded when a makeshift bomb exploded during a routine patrol southwest of Kandahar on Aug. 22.
He died at a hospital in Germany on Monday.
Pinksen was the 152nd member of the Canadian military to die during the Afghan mission that started in 2002. (CHUC, The Canadian Press)
