(Re: “Double dipping done, whether it bothered you or not,” Jan. 14)
Jordan Sturdy is not "double-dipping.” He is "triple-dipping," because, according to his website, he is also parliamentary secretary to the Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure. So, taxpayers pay Mr. Sturdy $15,278.85 as parliamentary secretary in addition to his salary as mayor ($24,000) and his MLA salary ($101,859). According to IntegrityBC, Mr. Sturdy has also claimed a grand total of $15,052 in expenses reportedly incurred in just over three months.
What bother me is, apart from the fact that it is impossible to do justice to three jobs and therefore unethical to claim three salaries, why did Mr. Sturdy failed to disclose his third salary in recent interviews? Sloppy journalism also bothers me.
