In the same vein, can the RMOW or Ministry of Transportation post signs at the entrances to Whistler that indicate "No Engine Braking (Jake Brakes).Ē Perhaps a bylaw is required.
Compression braking is particularly evident on the Alta Vista hill heading south where speeds are also excessive (just prior to the recent accident site). The restriction on compression brakes may also keep trucking speeds within the posted limits.
I am supportive of the logging industry, which is a big part of our corridor's economy, but I wish to see safety and noise control as a priority
