Whistler's own Will Routley and Team Whistler rider Leah Guloien were the fastest male and female cyclists in Saturday's (Sept. 7) fourth annual RBC GranFondo Whistler.
Routley, who was participating in his hometown ride for the first time, came across the finish line 11 seconds ahead of former Symmetrics teammate Cameron Evans to take the victory. Guloien was the women's winner for the second year in a row and the third time in the history of the event, helping Team Whistler's mixed team entry to victory as well.
This year's RBC GranFondo Whistler saw nearly 4,000 cyclists ride 122 kilometres from downtown Vancouver to the resort up the Sea to Sky Highway.
The Question caught up with Routley and Guloien at the finish line to hear their thoughts about their GranFondo experiences in the video below.
Registration is now open for next year's event. The fifth anniversary Fondo will feature an extended route option that will allow participants to ride 152 km to Whistler.
