On Aug. 23 my wife and I stopped in Pemberton for lunch on our way to a wedding at Whispering Falls Resort. We spent $200 at the liquor store and grocery store. As it was a hot day we opted to take our seven-pound Shih Tzu with us as we made our rounds in your beautiful town. We proceeded to have burgers at a diner, but because we had or dog we sat outside to eat. As the waiter served us and we got ready to tuck in to our lunch, some jerk who sat down after us said we should put our dog in the car. I said itís too hot and he replied, "I don't care if the dog fries; get it the f--- out of here!"
Is this the general thought of all your citizens? I think not! There were many dogs around us and no one batted an eye about it. There were no signs posted about dogs I could see. We decided to eat at the bus depot.
On our return we needed fuel, but chose to take a chance by driving through town, as we refused to spend another penny in Pemberton.
I always look for and ask about rules regarding dogs. I do this so I don't need to offend anybody, but this guy went out of his way to treat visitors like dirt. Never again will we patronize Pemberton. I hope no one takes this personally, but I don't want this memory from your town to repeat itself.
