The Whistler Chamber of Commerce has appointed author, businessman and brand-and-marketing specialist Val Litwin to lead the organization as its new CEO.
Litwin brings an extensive history of executive and non-profit experience to the job, co-founding and marketing the highly successful outreach initiative, Kindness Crew, through which he co-authored two books. In the business world he co-founded and managed the hair care business, Blo Blow Dry Bar, which he saw expand to 11 locations in three years. Most recently Litwin served as vice president of franchise operations at Nurse Next Door, leading its expansion into the US.
Litwin is expected to assume his new role at the Chamber of Commerce Sept. 24.
“It’s not often you get to work with world-class people and businesses in a world-class environment” Litwin said in a release. “The Chamber is at an exciting inflection point. Continuing to deliver value to our members and resort partners is key. I’m looking forward to collaborating with our members and such a dynamic Board of Directors, all focused on one thing — elevating Whistler, a community that already sits at an impressive height”
The Chamber pointed to Litwin’s record of visionary business development, organizational leadership, strategic communications, corporate and social responsibility and financial accountability as complimentary strengths for the Whistler business community.
“Our search committee cast a wide net in looking for a new CEO,” said Chamber board chair Sue Adams. “After a comprehensive nation-wide search, the Chamber Board of Directors is pleased to welcome such an innovative leader to the Whistler Chamber of Commerce. The Board is confident that Val’s executive leadership and visionary business strategy will be an enormous asset to the strength of our local economy.”
