The Whistler Waldorf School is growing.
The school announced this week it will offer Grade 10 as of September 2013. It also plans on expanding to offer Grades 11 and 12 in 2014 and 2015 respectively. For the past two years the school has only offered programs up to Grade 9. The school’s enrollment rate has increased steadily at a rate of 10 to 12 per cent with a 50 per cent jump for the 2012-2013 school year.
Principal Aegir Morgan says enrollment has gone up due to the school’s multidisciplinary curriculum and the fact that the students at the school are happy and engaged in what they learn.
Parents’ recommendations are a factor as well, Morgan said. In a recent survey the school did, 98 per cent of parents said they would recommend the school.
The school is currently looking for a bigger, permanent site that they can move to within the next two years to accommodate the rising enrollment numbers.
