Dear Editor,
Regarding Nick Davies article on Jan. 31: "When locally owned makes a resort great.”
I have been in Whistler for over 35 years and have always tried to support the local businesses. I have shopped in many of the stores mentioned in Nick's article and have always been satisfied with the service as well as their competitive pricing.
I did however purchase a well-known brand of ski pants from a large company retailer that are defective. I checked out the website of the ski pant company and all warranty claims were to go through the place of purchase.
I returned the pants with receipt. They were not at all interested in sending the pants back to the manufacturer, nor did they offer to try to fix them.
I have learned my lesson and in the future will be supporting "the other shops" in Whistler.
