Whistler Animals Galore is a local non-profit that provides shelter and care to animals in the community.

Throughout the month of February, Whistler residents can get 50 per cent off the amount owing on their parking tickets and, at the same time, donate $5 to Whistler Animals Galore (WAG).

The municipality is bringing back their parking ticket amnesty program for a limited time, giving residents an opportunity to pay off outstanding tickets while supporting a local non-profit organization.

The program runs until the end of February and applies to all parking tickets older than 30 days. For every ticket payment received, the RMOW will donate $5 toward the Whistler animal shelter. There is no limit to the number of tickets each person can settle throughout the month.

"This is such a win-win-win,” said WAG director of shelter operations Shannon Broderick in a municipal release. “The money collected through the parking ticket amnesty program will go towards saving an animal, whether it is lifesaving surgery or a simple spay. WAG is extremely grateful to all of our many supporters, and this is another great way the community can help."

To participate in the program, please make your payment in-person at municipal hall, open Monday to Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
