Internationally acclaimed musician, songwriter, comedian and children’s entertainer Norman Foote returns to Whistler on Thursday (Jan. 3) for a show at Millennium Place at 7 p.m.
Born in Vancouver, Foote is a Juno Award winning performer, known for his props, outrageous humour and original songs. He’s also written for Disney, Little Bear Live and Backyardigans Live. Tickets for the show are $16.50 for adults or $11.50 for children 12 and under, available at artswhistler.tix.com or at the venue.
Tween Board Game Afternoon
Kids aged 10 to 14 looking for something to do Thursday afternoon (Jan. 3) can head over to The Burrow at the Whistler Public Library at 3:30 p.m. for a Tween Board Game Afternoon. Play your favourite board game or learn something new — plus there’s free refreshments.
Pernell Reichert Band
Fans of the alt country sound should make the trip to Pemberton on Friday (Jan. 4) for the Pernell Reichert Band at the Pemberton Hotel.
Hailing from Vancouver, the three-piece band features Pernell on acoustic guitar, hollow-bodied electric slide guitar, harmonica, banjo, and vocals; Ross Fairbairn on bass and background vocals; and Tom Tischer on drums and background vocals.
The show starts at 9 p.m. and there’s no cover.
King of the Rail

Join Dr. Darcy Otto in the Whistler Library’s community room on Wednesday (Jan. 9) as he discusses Aristotle, explores the nature of happiness — and?asks whether or not it leads to a good life. Otto has a B.A. in Philosophy, Greek and Latin at University College at the University of Toronto, and completed his M.A. and Ph.D. at McMaster University in Ancient Philosophy.
The session, part of the Quest Lecture Series, starts at 7 p.m. and is free.
