Dear Editor,
On Nov. 25 the Whistler Sea Wolves Swim Club held its inaugural Swim-a-Thon and Bake Sale. A resounding success in our first year, the Sea Wolves swimmers completed up to five km (that's 200 laps) in under two hours.
All swimmers were between the ages of seven and 17 — great job, swimmers. The success of the event would not have been guaranteed if not for the support of the community.
A heartfelt thanks to everyone who sponsored our kids and encouraged them to strive for the 200 hundred laps. Immeasurable gratitude to Whistler's Marketplace IGA, McDonald's, and Nesters Market for their generous donations to our bake sale and swimmers food table; your generosity to our local children/youth epitomizes the season of giving and demonstrates the meaning of "community partners."
Thank you parents for all your hard work in bringing this event together. Finally, huge butterfly strokes of thanks to our coaches, Annick, Becks and Neil, for overseeing the entire event, preparing the kids to swim the distance, and above all, helping our children set goals and achieve them in fun and positive ways. You rock — thank you!
