An avalanche rescue dog that went missing on Sunday (Dec. 2) in Pemberton has been found, and is now at home safely with her owners.
Coho, an eight-year-old chocolate lab certified with the Canadian Avalanche Rescue Dog Association, was located on Wednesday afternoon (Dec. 5). She had initially gone missing Sunday morning and had last been spotted near downtown Pemberton.
"She is home safe and sound," said owner Darcie Sibbald in an email to The Question. "She got a good bath and put herself to bed in the bedroom. Seems like she's glad to be home and we're ecstatic to have her home."
Sibbald also thanked those who helped locate Coho or spread the word that she was missing. Dozens of people shared the information via social media in the hours before Coho was located.
"Having the support of the community in a time of need is so comforting," said Sibbald.
