Service recognized

Dear Editor,

Ken Melamed has been recognized with the Queen's Jubilee Medal in recognition for his many years of service to our community.

Unfortunately, from time to time, the vey best-intentioned efforts of those who serve in public service can be scorned and their efforts trivialized. While Ken is the last person I know who seeks this type of notice, this recognition speaks volumes.

Ken has volunteered in and served our community selflessly for years.  Whistler is a better place for his service.

Thanks Ken and congratulations.

B. Buchholz
