Dear Editor,
A past Pemberton council wisely obtained a water licence on Pemberton Creek to prevent a private power project from being built against the wishes of the community.
Yet with no public consultation at all, the current council has just invited private interests to build one.
Council must find out what the public wants on the creek before going ahead with this.
Mayor Sturdy, you are now seeking the Liberal nomination for our riding. Seize this opportunity to demonstrate your willingness to listen to your constituents rather than to Innergex. Don't be in a rush to turn this public resource over to private interests.
