On Saturday (Sept. 29) the Pemberton volunteers of the Sea to Sky’s Buddy Up For Breastfeeding program hosted the 2012 Breastfeeding Celebration.
It was an opportunity for community members to get together to support newly nursing moms and to celebrate the benefits that breastfeeding provides. Over 20 supporters participated and nine moms and babes “latched on” for the Quintessence Challenge for the most children breastfeeding at 11 a.m.
More than 3,333 babies were counted at over 132 sites in seven countries. Thanks for coming out.
The organizers would like to thank the generous individuals and businesses who donated items for the day as well as for door prizes: Bananamay Bodyworks, Be Natural, Cathy Konkle – RMT Pemberton Valley Wellness, Dr. Mike Jess – Locomotion, Eleni Floral Designs and Décor, Growing Great Children, Heather Prohaska – Usborne Books, Julie Sickle – RMT, Karissa Josok – Usana, Lida Pedrini, Little Bear Productions, Lucia Gelato, One Earth, The Pony Espresso, Sea to Sky Community Services, Suikiya Sushi and Suzanne’s Sox.
