The third annual Walk-a-Mile event, held by the Whistler Women's Centre, was on Sunday (Sept. 23) with just under 30 men participating.
The event challenges men to walk a mile in women's high heel shoes to raise money for the WCC and awareness about sexual violence against women and children.
All funds raised go to the WWC drop-in centre and will hep continue programming and services for women in the community.
The Walk-a-Mile initiative, launched in 2001, has since grown into an international movement, with thousands of men raising money for rape crisis centres, domestic violence shelters and other sexualized violence education, prevention and remediation programs.
