Dear editor,
I would like to bring everyone's attention to a very important event that is occurring this Sunday (Sept. 23).
In the early afternoon, the Cops for Cancer Tour de Coast will be riding through our community. They will come through in the early afternoon and head down the meadows, turn around and head to Mount Currie, and then turn around and stop for their day at Pemberton Valley Lodge.
One of the riders is local David MacKenzie, who volunteers his time as an auxilliary RCMP officer, and is volunteering 10 days of his time for this ride.
These riders are raising money for pediatric cancer research as well as for Camp Good Times (a camp for youth who are battling through cancer). If cancer has touched you or your family, please come and cheer them on as they ride.
They are expected to arrive after 3 p.m. at the Pemberton Valley Lodge. If you can't make it to cheer them on, you can still donate at copsforcancer@bc.cancer.ca
A big thank you to the officers who are doing this for everyone touched by cancer.
Adam Adams
