Best way to fundraise is by hat

Dear Editor,

A massive thank you to all the ladies who attended the Mad Hatter themed second annual Silver Tea Party.

It was my pleasure to have you all come for tea. You were all beautifully dressed in character, or in your summer frocks and grandiose hats. You all made me smile and proud to know you.

Peoples Choice awards, for most comical went to Dawn Ross as the Cheshire Cat, for favourite hat, Deb Shier as the Feminine Mad Hatter and for best costume, Gretchen Firth as the Queen of Hearts.

The biggest award goes to Pearl’s Safe House. You amazing ladies raised a whopping amount of $1,679.

Very special thanks to all that helped me in the setting up and the serving of tea, scones and pastries, sandwiches and staying to help with the clean up. You really worked hard for your tea. Thank goodness for wonderful friends and volunteers. I have my thinking cap on for next year so you can have time to enjoy.

Thank you to the ladies that came the next day to wash all the tubs of gorgeous silver and china.

I really enjoy having these tea parties and see y'all for "Southern Belle" next year!
