Bring the family to the Whistler Museum on Saturdays this summer as noted locals guide fun arts and crafts activities that reveal interesting aspects of the resortís history and culture.
Every week until Aug. 11, the museum welcomes folks like the Whistler Sailing Association, Isobel MacLaurin and Michael Allen to share their knowledge and love of Whistler through fun and fascinating activities.
On Saturday (July 21), the theme is Postcards of Whistler, and you can learn about Whistlerís pioneer postmistress and make your own unique postcard to carry on the tradition of sending Whistler memories to your loved ones.
Admission is $7 for adults, $5 students/seniors, $4 for those 18 years and under Ė and it includes the museum exhibits. If you want to attend all the Saturdays, family memberships to the Whistler Museum are $40 for the entire year and include unlimited admission.†

Inspectah Deck at Garfís
American rapper, producer and (ahem) member of the Wu-Tang Clan, Inspectah Deck plays Garfinkels on Monday (July 23) at 9 p.m.
The artist has earned critical praise for his intricate lyricism, and for his verses on many of the group's most revered songs, although he hasnít earned the mainstream success of his counterparts.

Author Fred Stenson Coming to Whistler
The Whistler Readers and Writers Festival is hosting acclaimed Canadian historical fiction and nonfiction writer†Fred Stenson†this fall as the official Writer in Residence for 2012. †
During his two-month stay at Alta Lake Station House, the multiple-award winning author will mentor 10 novice, emerging and experienced writers to help take their writing to the next level.†
Prospective participants must submit a short synopsis of the writing they plan to work on during the residency, plus a manuscript of no more than 20 double spaced pages to email@example.com by Aug. 12.
