Mr. Barratt, our highly paid administrator, is trying to silence Nancy Wilhelm-Morden (“CAO responds to column,” Question, July 22) and Mayor Ken Melamed appears to be going along for the ride. Mr. Barratt’s pathetic veiled threats take his administration to depressingly new lows. His statements about the confidentiality question and Nancy Wilhelm-Morden’s integrity are downright insulting. In writing a response to a personal criticism, he says, “RMOW would like to offer clarification…” This is one of many times he’s written a letter to the media about Nancy Wilhelm-Morden’s column without substantially addressing any of the important issues she has raised. I question whether Mr. Barratt actually wrote this latest letter, and if he didn’t, I’d like to know how much “we the taxpayer” paid the “legal ghost writer” who did.
