Briefs from the Squamish RCMP

Mischief

July 17: Police located an intoxicated 16-year-old male who had smashed several windows at a restaurant and lacerating his arm after BC Ambulance crews alerted police. The youth was taken to hospital for treatment and released to his parents with an appearance notice to appear in court to face a charge of mischief.

Intoxicated male

July 16: At 5:03 p.m., a falling down intoxicated, incoherent man was located by a local conservation officer wandering around Cottonwood Road. The male was on conditions of release not to consume drugs or alcohol. He was arrested and held until sober and was issued charges for being intoxicated in public and breach of conditions.

Theft

July 18: Between 4 and 7:30 p.m., a Porteau Cove Provincial Park visitor noticed his computer bag missing, which contained two iPad computers, an iPod Touch and headphones and a charger valued at $2,000.

Impaired driving

July 18: At 2:55 a.m., a blue Ford pick-up truck blew a red light on Highway 99 at Mamquam Road narrowly missing another vehicle. The 38-year-old female driver failed a roadside screening and was returned to the detachment to supply two breath samples over the legal limit. She was released to appear in court Sept. 1 to answer to a charge of impaired driving.
