Panhandler charged

A panhandler who has been the subject of numerous police complaints was arrested for cocaine possession Friday (March 5). The 34-year-old male usually says he needs money to get a bus ticket to New Westminster or Pemberton. Police spotted him receiving money from a citizen only to purchase drugs. The man was arrested, charged with cocaine possession and released on condition he appear in court March 24.

Bike stolen

On March 3, a complainant called to report his bike stolen from the Chieftan Mall. A Rocky Mountain Vertex 50 21-speed mountain bike valued at $1,500 was taken from outside a business when it was left for a period of time.
