Have you ever wondered just how far some people will go, and what they will do and put up with, just for the sake of living the Whistler ski bum dream?
Well, thanks to Carin Smolinski’s documentary photography project called Living the Dream, you can check out photos of all the crazy, inventive and amazing living situations and stories of locals who will do practically anything in pursuit of that Whistler dream.
You can check out all the incredible photos of squats, crowded bedrooms and camper van living at the opening party for the exhibit at the Southside Diner on Saturday (Feb. 20) at 9 p.m.

BEARFOOT BISTRO’S WINTER VODKA LAND: The temperatures just plummeted for the après ski scene in Whistler, thanks to the addition of a hot (well, cool actually… very, very cool… literally) new sub-zero vodka room now open at Whistler’s Bearfoot Bistro restaurant.
Called the Belvedere Ice Room, Bearfoot’s new room is the first ever sub-zero vodka ice bar in Canada, and features a range of 50 vodkas from around the world showcased in sculpted ice displays.
The Belvedere Ice Room menu also offers chilled partner plates of gravadlax, oysters and caviar with vodkas from Russia, Poland, France, Sweden, the Czech Republic, United States, and even Pemberton. Patrons can keep warm in the -18 degree room with the complimentary use of parkas and winter hats.
