Pemberton knows how to throw a party. Last Saturday (Feb. 6) was a perfect example of that as the Olympic torch rolled through town at 8 a.m., staying for less than 30 minutes before heading for Mount Currie. With events taking place all day, the community celebration — organized to celebrate the torch’s appearance in our town — continued until 8 p.m., when fireworks marked the end of a successful community day. Even the sun, whose appearance has been only fleeting over the past few weeks, joined in.

That said, read on too for goings-on around Pemberton that fall outside the realm of the 2010 Olympics.
