Bathrooms are one of those things you don’t really think about until you really need one. Plus, with about a ba-zillion visitors, media and athletes all converging on Whistler for the 2010 Winter Games, finding relief in the resort might get a little tricky.
Luckily, the Powder Room, a national education program for people with overactive bladders, has compiled a list of recommended public restrooms along the Sea to Sky Highway and in Whistler.
The list comes thanks to Canadians who were encouraged to add and rate public restrooms across Canada on the Canada-wide Powder Room Map found at powderroom.ca. Bathrooms were rated for cleanliness and maintenance, lineups, location and overall décor.
And (drum roll, please,) the recommended potties in Whistler? The Visitor Info Centre and Carleton Lodge.

CRAZY CANUCK BOOK SIGNING: Meet legendary Crazy Canuck Dave Irwin and author Janet Love Morrison Saturday (Feb. 13) at Armchair Books in the Village Square as they sign copies of Morrison’s book The Crazy Canucks: Canada’s Legendary Ski Team.
The book tells the stories of those young and fearless Canadian ski racers — Jim Hunter, Dave Murray, Dave Irwin, Ken Read and Steve Podborski — and how they became favourites across Europe and skied into Canadian history books.
The signing begins at 4 p.m. at Armchair Books.

LOCALS’ LIVINGROOM SHINES WITH WHISTLER TALENT: All during the 2010 Games, Whistler Live is presenting lots of amazing entertainment throughout the Village.
Along with the big-name acts playing on stage, Whistler Live also recruited some of the corridor’s hottest local talent to perform true Sea to Sky sounds for visitors from around the world.
Some of the local musicians appearing daily at Town Plaza (by Caramba and the Gap) between noon and 6 p.m. include Jesse Thom, John Bottomley, Dana-Marie Battaglia and many more.
Also be on the lookout for roving street performers wandering from site to site daily, eliciting smiles and guffaws with stilt walking, art shows, games, street theatre, First Nations traditions and more.

A LITTLE WHISTLER BS: Head to the Whistler Museum on Tuesday (Feb. 16) to explore Whistler BS (Beyond Skiing), the first in a series of fireside chats designed to shed light on Whistler’s history and characters.
The event features local history, storytelling, pictures and artefacts from pioneering to today presented by Florence Petersen, Isobel and Don MacLaurin, Laurie Vance, Alex Kleinman and more.
Whistler BS (Beyond Skiing) takes place Feb. 16 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Whistler Museum. Tickets are $65 including wine and appetizers. The event is a fundraiser, so tax receipts are available. Call (604) 932-2019 for more info.
