After weeks of internal conversations, officials with Live Nation have released a statement saying plans to stage the return of the Pemberton Festival are on hold.
Shane Bourbonnais, Live Nation's president of talent for international music, sent a statement to The Question on Monday (Jan. 18) saying the company has put planning to host the next Pemberton Festival on hold while they work with local officials "on issues which will make the festival financially feasible for us."
"For the time being, we have put plans to stage the next Pemberton
Festival on hold while we work with local officials on issues which will
make the festival financially feasible for us. We hope that we will be
able to bring back the Festival to Pemberton at some point in the
future," the statement said.
In July 2008, the inaugural Pemberton Festival brought about 40,000 music fans and some of the world's biggest acts to the Spud Valley, but the event did not return in 2009.
More to come...
