Q: VANOC officials on Monday announced that the engineering firm SNC-Lavalin has been named the 64th sponsoring company or organization for the 2010 Winter Games. Under what category does SNC fall, and who are some of the other companies in that category?

A: SNC-Lavalin was named an official supplier, supplying engineering and construction services associated with the Games. Other categories include official national partners (such as Bell Canada and Hudson’s Bay Co., RBC and General Motors), official supporters (including Air Canada, B.C. Hydro and ICBC) and official suppliers (including Canada Post, Purolator, Canwest Publishing, 3M and General Mills).
