Q. Former Paralympian Patrick Jarvis last week was re-elected to the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) governing board and will serve a four-year term as an at-large member. What are Jarvis’ credentials for the post?
A. Jarvis spend 13 years in the board of the Canadian Paralympic Commmittee, including two terms as president, and served as Canada’s Chef de Mission to the 1998 Paralympic Games in Nagano, Japan. He was first elected to the IPC board of governors in 2005 and was appointed chair of the Development Committee, responsible for championing the growth of Paralympic sport worldwide.
