Thank you Pemberton. The organizers of Slow Food Cycle Sunday (SFCS) 2008 wish to thank each volunteer, farmer and vendor for their participation in this event. Their efforts, combined with the financial contributions of Pemberton Valley Supermarket, Village of Pemberton, SLRD, CFOW and Whistler Blackcomb Foundation Envirofund ensured that all 2300 cyclists had a day to remember in the Pemberton Meadows. Particular thanks go to the Pemberton Search and Rescue team, who have become the SFCS security blanket. They were out on the road all day, ready to handle any emergency situation. Lori Fairbanks of the old and still current Pemberton Community Centre also deserves thanks for hosting our registration area, the hub of the event. Thank you also to the residents and workers in the Pemberton Meadows who shared the road with the excited cyclists who couldn't wait to find out what was around the next corner.
The day started with a sprinkling of rain to settle the dust, then the sun came out to warm our backs, ending with a wicked wind storm that politely waited until 7:30 p.m. when all the riders had returned and were trading tales of their day's adventures.

To all the participants, thanks for coming to show your support for local food and agriculture by buying up every stitch of food that was produced and prepared for you. We hope to see you next year, Sunday Aug. 16, 2009.
